Office Refurbishment

Gasjack was approached by David Bayliss, Director of Stride Treglown, to refurbish their Grade II listed Plymouth office. To minimize disruption, the project was broken into three phases, ensuring continuous office operations.

The refurbishment included structural changes, high-end finishes, and technological upgrades to create a modern, energy-efficient workspace. Dropped ceilings, dwarf walls, and fixed desks were removed to improve flow, while a full electrical re-wire introduced additional sockets and data points. New high-specification flooring was installed, and the layout was enhanced with three WC’s, a drawing room, a staff kitchen, and a high-end, client-facing kitchen.

To restore the building’s character, the original sash windows were refurbished, walls plastered and decorated, and stonework sandblasted to expose its natural beauty. Energy efficiency was improved with insulated metal-framed walls and new radiators.

Bespoke elements, including custom-designed doorways, a refurbished high-level fixed pane window, and redesigned storage with tailored doors, enhanced functionality. A high-tech boardroom and two media walls created modern collaboration spaces, while new commercial boilers and essential roof repairs ensured long-term sustainability.

Additional features such as a drying room and a new bin store completed the transformation. The project was met with high praise from David Bayliss, celebrating its success in blending modern functionality with historic charm.

Testimonial

"Stride Treglown are delighted with the refurbishment of their office at Norbury Court in The Millfield’s Plymouth, which was carried out by Gasjack Group and their team. Their approach to completing the works in an operational office with the challenge of us continuing to work as well as dealing with an old building that needed a lot of TLC, was always exemplar and always supportive of our needs"

Church Refurbishment

Gasjack was awarded the tender to refurbish a church in Cornwall, delivering a comprehensive restoration that modernized the space while preserving its heritage.

The project involved replacing all windows and doors to improve insulation, security, and energy efficiency. Various sections of the roof were renewed, with guttering and downpipes either repaired or replaced to protect the building from future weather damage. Internally, the Parish administrator’s office, the Vicar’s office, and the corridor were fully refurbished, creating a more functional and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

A new staff kitchen was installed, providing upgraded facilities that better serve the needs of those using the space daily. The attached classrooms underwent a complete transformation, with new flooring, walls, and ceilings designed to enhance comfort and productivity.

Bespoke improvements were incorporated throughout the project, ensuring that the refurbishment remained sympathetic to the church’s original character while introducing modern functionality. Every element was carefully planned to balance aesthetics with durability, creating a revitalized space that meets contemporary needs while respecting the building’s history.

With meticulous attention to detail, Gasjack successfully delivered a high-quality refurbishment that breathed new life into the church. The result is a refreshed, energy-efficient, and practical space that will serve the local community for years to come.

Jack took the time to meet with us to understand what was required and the urgency of finding a resolution to our ongoing Sports Centre and Swimming Pool issues. Jack was able to offer varying designs and solutions at different costings ensuring that all of the options were covered and explained fully regarding output and capability to determine what was best for the University.

When undertaking a large plant room refit for the sports centre and swimming pool, Jack and the team swiftly and professionally decommissioned and removed the dated Rehema, Andrews boilers and flue system.

They supplied and fitted 4 x 150kw Viessmann boilers into a bespoke cascaded system to enable the swimming pool plate heat exchanger and the heat load of the sports centre building to be run alongside each other without issue.  The new cascade flue system was installed to service the replacement Viessmann Vito-Cell 1000 litre cylinder, to allow instant hot water demand was provided and covered all areas. There was a huge amount of associated products and works required and these were carried out to ensure the whole plantroom, heating and hot water system was set up to be controlled via the new BMS.
